ICLC 11, Xi'an: Language, Cognition, Context
Presentation Documents     Photo Gallery of ICLC 11

Like all previous ICLCs, ICLC 11, held in Xi'an, China, from July 11 to July 17, 2011, was a gathering of cognitive linguists who presented their most recent research in the study of language. All presentations share the assumption that language is part of human cognition, not an autonomous and separate system. Language is seen as influenced and, to a large extent, even determined by forces not only within it but also outside it—factors of general human cognitive capacities as well as factors that result from the diversity of societies, cultural groups, discourse types, and communicative modes.

ICLC 11 featured 8 keynote speeches and 5 theme sessions. Three hundred eighty-five scholars presented their work in concurrent sessions and 60 of them displayed their research in the Poster Session. Besides, they toured the famed Terra-Cotta Museum of Worriers and enjoyed a theatrical performance of Tang Dynasty dance and music. Many participants have informed us that ICLC 11 was an enriching and memorable experience for them.

The Organizing Committee of ICLC 11 is in the process of gathering documents (PPT and/or Word files) from presenters to be posted at www.iclc11.org, which will be maintained for at least 5 years. If you presented at the conference and are interested in sharing your work with others who visit this website, please send your presentation files to iclc11.xian@gmail.com before September 30, 2011.

The received documents will be available for sharing at www.iclc11.org in October, 2011. The following is the link to the ICLC 11 photo gallery.
